Our Guest Speaker Sunday will be Rev. Gary Kuebler!! From the trading floors of Wall Street to the greens of professional golf tournaments to the spotlight of T.V. and national comedy clubs Reverend Gary has traveled a Divinely diverse path. Rev. Gary found his way into New Thought and Religious Science in 1991 as Spirit was gently and lovingly guiding him with a 2 x 4. From that first day in Church he knew that an entirely new way of life stood before him, a life lived from inspiration as opposed to desperation. As he voraciously studied the works of ancient mystics and modern day masters his new life unfolded as he made major career transitions in an effort to live a life on purpose. Ultimately that purpose was revealed to him as being a teacher, writer and speaker of Spiritual truth, principles and practices. Rev. Gary has served as the Senior Minister of the Alpine Center of New Thought and is the founding Minister of the Joyful Heart Church of New Thought in San Diego, California. Rev. Gary is a licensed United Centers for Spiritual Living minister and currently serves as the Spiritual Director of the Joyful Heart Teaching Chapter he is also employed as a Senior Instructor and consultant in the computer industry. He lives in San Diego with his wonderful wife Jennifer and his incredible son Alec. Rev. Gary brings a profound depth of heart with an awesome sense of humor to this teaching. Musical Guest: Faith Rivera Faith Rivera is a dark-skinned Filipina born on Kauai a sunny Easter afternoon. This recent Emmy-winning singer/songwriter started early learning folksongs from her grandma & playing piano from the age of 6. Like the landscape & rains of her birthplace, Faith's groove is refreshing & soothing. As a teeny bopper she fronted an all girls band and released her first original on cool star-shaped vinyls on Azra International. Faith left the islands and dived into classical music & jazz graduating with a BA in Music & Minor in Marketing from Cal State Long Beach. Out of school, she jumped in an RV and hit the road playing keys & singing back-up for Interscope rock/r&b artist, Xavier, opening for De La Soul, Morris Day & the Time, and Speech. Since then, she's worked as a session singer with such artists as Luther Vandross, Jon Secada, & Sheila E. After a featured performance with Daniel Ho & the Honolulu Symphony in early 2003, this local girl received an Emmy award in the Outstanding Original Song category for her vocal & co-writing work on « Forever Near » aired on NBC's Passions. Faith continues to write for releases on other artists' albums from Canada to Japan. Closest to her heart, Faith shares her time & talents on uplifting events like the recent Humanity's Team Leadership Gathering (ww.humanitysteam.com) in Oregon and in producing Long Beach's annual Womens Festival of the Arts held each Spring featuring over 30 artists from grammy-winning songwriters to local authors, poets, & dancers.
