What is a Professional (Licensed) Practitioner? A professional practitioner is a qualified licensed individual who is committed: - to maintaining a high spiritual consciousness;
- to doing spiritual mind treatment (affirmative prayer) for those who request it, through the church's Ministry of Prayer or as an individual client;
- to being an active spiritual presence in their church and community.
To become a licensed practitioner through United Church of Religious Science one must complete a multi-year required course of study, pass a comprehensive written exam and be approved by an oral panel consisting of ministers and experienced practitioners. The practitioner's license is renewed every two years after meeting service requirements, continuing education requirements, and with the recommendation of the minister. Practitioners do workshops, classes, projects, and help with church services in various ways for their specific church. The practitioner not only serves at the local church level but also at the United Church level by participating in the Ministry of Prayer, serving on the Religious Science Practitioner Community Association, on committees and teams of the United Church or Religious Science, doing workshops at the annual area conferences (Asilomar and Jekyll Island) and the annual gathering. A licensed Religious Science Practitioner is one who has been trained to help people use the art and skill of spiritual mind treatment to solve problems and to correct situations. He or she has the understanding and training to impersonally assist clients to handle their personal problems. A Practitioner lives, demonstrates, and practices spiritual truth. A session with a Practitioner will help you to understand your problem and its cause. Then, through spiritual mind treatment, the law of Mind and Spirit is set in motion to correct the problem. You will be guided in the control of your life and affairs through right thinking and spiritual understanding. The relationship between you and your Practitioner is one of complete confidence and freedom at all times. This is a definite professional service. Fees vary--feel free to discuss the fee structure with your licensed Practitioner. Personal financial arrangements are flexible and need not be a deterrent to receiving services. |
